Beans come in all shapes, sizes and colours The major contribution of beans to the 4-Year crop rotation is their ability to fix nitrogen in the soil, much to the delight of the Green Crop that follows on in the next year, as foliage needs nitrogen for photosynthesis more than the other two essential minerals phosphorus and potassium.
